Homosexuality as an End Times Sign: The Age of Noah

By Dr. David R. Reagan

One of the many signs that we are living in the end times is the epidemic of homosexuality that is sweeping the world today.
Jesus said He would return at a time when society resembled "the days of Noah" (Matthew 24:37). The Old Testament tells us that in the time of Noah "the earth was corrupt in God's sight" (Genesis 6:11). The New Testament reveals in stark detail the nature of that corruption.

The Nature of Noah's Age
The description of Noah's society is found in chapter one of Romans. Paul writes that the society was characterized first of all by the rejection of God and the worship of Man (Romans 1:18-25). Because of this stubborn and foolish rejection of their Creator, God "gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity," and there was an outbreak of sexual immorality (Romans 1:24).

From the Supreme Court of Heaven
When they still refused to repent, God "gave them over to degrading passions," and there followed an epidemic of homosexuality in which "women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural" and men likewise "abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another" (Romans 1:26-27).
Notice the progression here. Man begins to worship himself, his own knowledge and cleverness. As Man begins to worship himself, God is set aside, together with His moral laws. The result is an outbreak of sexual immorality. This leads ultimately to an epidemic of homosexuality, one of the final signs of the moral collapse of any society.
Does this sound familiar? It should. It is a vivid description of the moral decline which the world has experienced in this century. We have gone full circle. The society of Noah has reappeared, and it is characterized by the kind of ungodliness and wickedness which provokes the wrath of God (Romans 1:18).

There are those who argue that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. That is sheer nonsense. Homosexuality is condemned as a sin against God in both the Old and New Testaments. It was one of the sins for which the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed (Genesis 19). It was specifically singled out in the Mosaic Law as "an abomination" (Leviticus 18:22). In fact, the Mosaic Law prescribed the death penalty for such activity (Leviticus 20:13).
In the New Testament Paul specifically condemns homosexual activity. He says it is unrighteousness and that it will keep one from inheriting the kingdom of God: "Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
In his first letter to Timothy, Paul again refers to the sin of homosexuality. He classifies homosexuals with those who are "lawless and rebellious," "ungodly," "unholy and profane" (1 Timothy 1:9-10).

The Humanist Viewpoint
Many humanist Christian leaders have tried to explain away these scriptures. In the process, they have endorsed homosexuality as an "alternative lifestyle," and they have tried to justify the ordination of practicing homosexuals.

Bible on Homosexuality
These religious leaders are caught up in spiritual darkness. They are the type referred to by Paul when he wrote: "Though they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them" (Romans 1:32).
These deluded leaders usually argue that the Old Testament expresses superstition about homosexuality and that the New Testament expresses Paul's personal prejudice. These arguments, of course, reveal a rejection of Scripture as being inspired by the Holy Spirit.
They then add insult to injury by asserting that homosexuality could not be all that bad because Jesus never condemned it. What a pitiful argument! That's like saying there is nothing wrong with child molestation, incest, or bestiality because Jesus never specifically condemned these sexual perversions.

The Viewpoint of Jesus
The fact is that Jesus had a lot to say about sexual morality, and what He had to say clearly rules out homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle before God.
In Matthew 19 Jesus taught that all sexual unions must be judged in reference to God's original intention and not in terms of human opinion and desire. And Jesus proceeded to point out that God's original intention was that "a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh" (Matthew 19:5).
In other words, Jesus clearly taught that the only moral sexual relationship is the one that occurs within marriage.

Homosexuality as an End Times Sign: The Homosexual Response

Increasingly, the homosexual community is responding to criticisms of its lifestyle by arguing: "We are born as homosexuals. Being homosexual is as natural as being left handed. We have no more choice about our sexual orientation than a person has about his skin color. We should therefore be given special civil rights protection like other minority groups."
It sounds good. But it is a lie of Satan. The Word of God places no condemnation upon a person's sex, skin color, or national origin. In fact, the Bible says that "God is no respecter of persons" (Romans 2:11). But the Bible clearly condemns a sexual preference for a person of the same sex. Would a loving God who sent His Son to die for the sins of the world condemn someone for something they have no control over? The answer is obvious.
Furthermore, there is no credible scientific evidence whatsoever that sexual preference is genetically determined like skin color. Several scientists have made the claim, including some recently, but none of their studies have stood the test of scientific investigation. In fact, all the evidence points to the fact that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice.
Certainly there are people who seem to be naturally tempted by a person of the same sex. Such temptation derives from the sin nature that all of us are born with. But that does not mean that giving in to the temptation is okay. After all, people with a normal sexual orientation are often tempted to have sexual relations outside of marriage, but the Bible clearly condemns both fornication and adultery.

"Normality"
Homosexuals also like to respond to their critics by arguing that the scientific community has declared their lifestyle to be "normal." In this regard they point to the decision that was made by the American Psychiatric Association in 1974 to remove homosexuality from its list of pathological psychiatric conditions.
It is true that the APA took such an action, but what is not so well known is the fact that the action was entirely political in nature and not motivated by any new scientific discoveries. This became evident in later surveys of the members of the association. Those surveys showed that the majority of the APA membership still viewed homosexual behavior as pathological. And four years after the vote, another survey revealed that 69% of psychiatrists still believed that homosexuality "usually represents a pathological adaptation."

"Homophobia"
Another response of homosexuals to their critics has been to label them "homophobic." This is a very effective response, because no one wants to be accused of being prejudiced.
But a phobia is an irrational fear. Is it irrational to fear homosexuals? I think not. They are carriers of deadly diseases. They are determined to destroy the God ordained concept of the family. And the Bible teaches that their unchecked presence in any society will ultimately result in God pouring out His wrath on that society. As you can see, there are some very rational reasons to fear homosexuals.

Homosexuality as an End Times Sign: Consequences

Let's consider for a moment the homosexual political agenda. It's a radical one that most people are not really aware of. If enacted, it would serve to undermine the Biblical concept of the family.
The first goal, of course, is to repeal all state laws against sodomy. Until 1961 every state in the Union had a law against sodomy. Since that time, state after state has repealed its anti-sodomy law due to pressure and threats from homosexual activists and organizations like the ACLU despite the fact that the Supreme Court has consistently upheld the constitutional right of states to pass such laws.
Another goal high on the political agenda is to get special laws enacted that would prohibit any kind of discrimination against homosexuals. The proposed laws are broad in scope. Some would prohibit a person from refusing to rent a room in his home to a homosexual. Others would go so far as to penalize a church for refusing to hire a homosexual, and organizations like the Boy Scouts would be required to recruit homosexual leaders. The most ominous laws are those that would classify verbal attacks on the homosexual lifestyle as "hate crimes." The latter laws could be applied to media ministers as well as preachers in the pulpit.
Pressure is mounting from homosexual activists groups and their allies (the ACLU, the NEA, and NOW) for the legalization of homosexual marriages in every state. Certain other demands go hand in hand with this one. One is that homosexual couples be given the same tax breaks as traditional families. Another is that such couples be given equal consideration in the adoption of children. And, of course, there are demands that the homosexual "family" be presented in the public schools as an alternative lifestyle.

The "Gay" Lifestyle
Let's take a closer look at the perverted lifestyle of homosexuals. I warn you ahead of time that the following information is graphic and disturbing.
Promiscuity is the norm. In a 1978 study, 43% of homosexuals admitted to having sex with more than 500 partners, and 28% to having sex with more than 1,000! They also revealed that most of their sexual partners were anonymous persons with whom they had sex only once. A 1981 study found that only 2% of homosexuals are "near monogamous" meaning that they had 10 or fewer sexual partners in a lifetime.

Corrupt Roots and the Bumper Crop
The sexual practices of homosexuals are even more appalling. The Institute for the Scientific Investigation of Sexuality reports:
  1. Two-thirds of homosexuals regularly lick and/or insert their tongue into the anus of their partners.
  2. More than one-third participate in "fisting" that is, the insertion of the hand into the rectum of a lover.
  3. Thirty per cent participate in "golden showers." This is where one person urinates on the other, sometimes into the mouth of his lover.
  4. Thirty-seven per cent admitted participating in some form of sado-masochism (torture for sexual pleasure).
  5. Ninety per cent admitted to some form of illegal drug use.
  6. Seventeen per cent said they had either eaten or rubbed themselves with the feces of a partner!
Gay? The old derisive term, "Queer," seems more appropriate.

The Deadly Pay-Off
Satan has attempted to disguise the sinfulness of homosexuality by having it dubbed "the gay lifestyle." But God will not be mocked. The Bible teaches that we reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7).
The Apostle Paul says that homosexuals suffer the consequence of their sin by "receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error" (Romans 1:27). The truth of that statement has always been evidenced in the psychological suffering of homosexuals.
But the statement has taken on new significance in recent years with the sudden outbreak of specifically homosexual diseases like AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), originally known as "the Gay Plague."
The result of their filthy sexual practices and their gross promiscuity is that the homosexual community is plagued with disease. Two-thirds of all AIDS cases result from homosexual activity, and homosexuals account for one-half of all syphilis cases even though they constitute only 1% of the population.
It is no wonder that the average age of homosexuals dying with AIDS is 39. The average age of homosexuals dying of all other causes is 41. And only 1% of homosexuals live to the age of 65! That compares to 73% of heterosexual males who live to age 65 or over.
Homosexuality is not an alternative "lifestyle." It is an alternative "deathstyle"!

Homosexuality as an End Times Sign: Hope for the Homosexual

Is there hope for the homosexual?
Yes, there is. The only hope is Jesus Christ. Through the power of His Spirit, the homosexual can be delivered from bondage to his sin, either by receiving complete deliverance from his perverted lust or by receiving the power to control the lust.
The most encouraging message any homosexual could ever be given is one contained in the Word of God in I Corinthians 6:9-11. This passage begins with some very bad news, but it ends with incredibly good news. The bad news is put in the following words: "Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Paul minces no words in this statement, and the impact is devastating. Homosexuals are condemned with the worst of sinners. But in the very next verse, Paul provides a wonderful glimpse of hope for the homosexual: "And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God."
Isn't that marvelous? Those words were addressed to saved children of God! Paul says, "And such were some of you." Yes, some of the Christians at Corinth had been sexual perverts, but they had been delivered from their bondage by the power of God in Christ Jesus. Their sins had been forgiven and forgotten by a God who does not wish that any should perish (Hebrews 8:12 and 2 Peter 3:9).
Like all sinners, the homosexual will find forgiveness and deliverance when he gets on his knees and repents of his sin. He will also find acceptance in the Church.

The Church
The Church has been severely criticized for having a "condemning attitude" toward homosexuals. The criticism is unjustified.
The Church cannot receive homosexuals into its fellowship when they come without repenting, demanding that the Church endorse their sin. To do so would be equivalent to the Church accepting adulterers who brag of their sexual conquests and refuse to repent.
Yes, the Church is a hospital for sinners and not a spiritual Phi Beta Kappa society. But the Church is a hospital for sinners who are willing to confess their sins and seek reconciliation with God.

Salmo 83
Oh Dios, no guardes silencio; no te quedes, oh Dios, callado e impasible.

8. Se recupera el título: “Mi pueblo Israel” (Os. 1:8-10; Ro. 9:25, 26; Ez. 36:8-12).
9. Israel derrota decisivamente a la Confederación (Abd. 1:9, 18; Ez. 25:13, 14; Jer. 49:10, 20-21, 23-26; Is. 11:12-14; 17:1; 19:16-17).
11. Israel toma prisioneros de guerra (Jer 48:46, 47; 49:3, 6, 11; Sof. 2:10, 11).
12. La región es reformada (Is. 17:1; Jer. 49:2, Sof. 2:4).
13. Israel expande sus fronteras (Abd. 1:19; Jer. 49:2; Is. 19:18, 19).

ISRAEL The Nation Fears Complete Isolation

Israel’s relations with Turkey are ruined, the Palestinians plan to seek UN recognition for their own state, the embassy in Cairo was stormed: Jerusalem is under massive pressure. Even hard-line Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is starting to sound conciliatory.
Is Jerusalem softening its hard-line stance? After weeks of confrontation with friend and foe alike, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose unusually conciliatory words in thanking the Egyptian government for its help during the storm by Egyptian protesters on the Israeli embassy in Cairo.
If Netanyahu is now backing down, it is because the situation is very serious. The Israelis are no strangers to crisis, but they will remember the last few weeks for a long time. Rarely has the Jewish state suffered so many setbacks and blows:
* On Sept. 1, pro-Palestinian activists in London interrupted a performance by the Israeli Symphony Orchestra so vehemently that the BBC had to break off its broadcast of the concert for the first time in its history.
* On Sept. 6, it became known that former US Defense Secretary Robert Gates had described Netanyahu as “ungrateful” in a meeting of the National Security Council. By refusing to acknowledge Israel’s growing isolation, Netanyahu was endangering his country, Gates said.
 * The dispute between Turkey and Israel over Israel’s refusal to apologize for the deaths of nine Turkish activists in a 2010 Israeli raid on a Turkish boat carrying aid for Gaza culminated when Turkey expelled the Israeli ambassador, cancelled its military cooperation with Jerusalem and announced it would provide military protection for Turkish ships heading to Gaza in the future.
* The Palestinian leadership has vowed to seek full United Nations membership for a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank at the UN General Assembly in New York on Sept. 20.
* Thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in Cairo, tore a hole in the surrounding wall, stormed part of the building and held six Israelis under siege for hours.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak, a long-time opponent of Netanyahu, is leading calls for a change in policy. According to Haaretz, Barak told fellow cabinet ministers that if Israel fails to try to move the peace process forward, it will be seen as obstructionist by its friends in the West.
-www.spiegel.de,12 September 2011

Contrary to many reports, Israel never had and apparently never will have allies, although some nations have halfheartedly confessed to be friends, but only temporarily and due to political opportunity.
Why no allies? The answer is found in Numbers 23:9, “For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.” We do well to keep biblical facts unpolluted from politically motivated statements. Israel is destined to be alone because the Bible says that salvation will come out of Zion. Jesus confirms, “Salvation is of the Jews.” These simple facts are the real reason for Israel’s isolation, and not the political maneuvering whether to the left or the right.
Israel will experience a temporary end to their isolation when the words of the Lord are fulfilled, “I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive” (John 5:43). That will be the time when the world will be united under the auspices of Antichrist. Then, in the midst of the seven-year tribulation, “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it” (Jeremiah 30:7). That is Israel’s hope, the guarantee of the prophetic Word, “He shall be saved out of it.”

Pivotal Moment for Israel Special Report by David Parsons 15 September 2011

Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to send Turkish warships to escort aid convoys to Gaza
The month of September 2011 may well go down as one of the most pivotal moments in Israel's modern's history, as the entire Middle East is convulsing before our
very eyes.

September was already earmarked as a key date on the regional calendar due to the looming diplomatic showdown over Palestinian statehood at the United Nations. The Palestinian Authority has refused to back down from its reckless unilateral push for a state along the pre-1967 lines, and thus decided to take a very dangerous path given the volatile political climate in the region. The PA's official calls for mass marches on Israeli towns and checkpoints in support of this effort is already inviting chaos and bloodshed.

But then suddenly last week, Israel's ambassadors in both Egypt and Turkey were unceremoniously chased from Cairo and Ankara within days of each other. Each nation is a regional power with long-standing security ties and shared concerns with Israel. Yet decades of prodigious efforts to forge close relations, often against the popular will of their peoples, may now be down the drain.

Only time will tell if this is indeed a rubicon moment for Israel, as the Palestinians sow the seeds of another intifada and strategic ties built up over many years with Egypt and Turkey now face the risk of being irreversibly severed. Even worse, the region could be slipping towards an unthinkable war.

The Islamist party ruling Turkey has been on a deliberate collision course with Israel for years now and finally found a pretext for breaking off its decades-long strategic alliance with Jerusalem over the Mavi Marmara flotilla raid last year.

Ankara has demanded an apology and compensation over the flotilla incident, as well as a complete lifting of the Gaza arms blockade. Israel has concluded that these demands are so excessive, it can only mean the Turks really do not want to reconcile.

Video footage taken by Al-Jazeera of Egyptians protesting outside the Israeli embassy in Cairo in August and carrying signs with swastikas and the slogan "The Gas Chambers Are Ready" (Screen capture from MEMRI-TV)T.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has responded by suspending all military ties and government-related trade with Israel. The Israeli ambassador was given two days to pack and leave. More ominously, Erdogan has threatened to dispatch Turkish warships to escort aid convoys bound for Gaza.

Israeli leader Binyamin Netanyahu has said he is determined to "lower the flames", but Erdogan turned up the rhetoric again by claiming this week that the Gaza flotilla incident was "grounds for war".

Meanwhile, Israel is struggling to maintain its tenuous ties to the ruling military council in Cairo after a cross-border Palestinian terror attack near Eilat left five Egyptian troops dead in the ensuing IDF response. Angry Egyptian mobs kept storming the Israel embassy in Cairo before finally forcing Amb. Yitzhak Levanon to flee the country.

The violent protests reflect the ingrained hostility among many Egyptians towards Israel, and it could prove difficult for Jerusalem to return to even the 'cold peace' with Cairo of the past three decades.

So for Israel, there are steep challenges all around: mend fences with Turkey and Egypt, navigate the volatile Arab uprisings, renew peace talks with an obstinate Palestinian leadership, and keep vigilant watch over the looming threat of a nuclear Iran.

Whatever happens next, something about the region has already changed. For the first time since Israel was reborn in 1948, the nation faces the risk of hostilities from the other three major regional powers - Egypt, Turkey and Iran - all at the same time. Can this downward trend ever be turned around?

The surest answer is that God can and will defend Israel! We are invited to entreat the Lord in prayer to be that mighty Deliverer once again on her behalf. The greatness of the peril only means the deliverance will have to be all that much greater. So please continue to join us in our Isaiah 62 Prayer Initiative, as we set aside every Wednesday of 2011 for a special time of intercession on Israel's behalf.

We also encourage all our friends and supporters worldwide to continue raising up a biblical standard, by reaching out to the elected leaders in your respective countries with an appeal for fairer treatment of Israel in the international arena. By voting for a premature, unilateral Palestinian state, many nations of the world will be trampling on important moral and legal principles that define the modern global order. The result will undoubtedly be fading prospects for peace, greater instability in the Middle East, and a loss of integrity for the international community.

The Land of Israel To whom does it belong?

By Dr. David R. Reagan

The answer is really very simple. God gave the land of Israel to Abraham (Genesis 17:8) and to his descendants through Isaac (Genesis 26:2-5) and Jacob (Genesis 28:1-4,13-14).
That means the land belongs to the descendants of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. In other words, the land belongs to the children of Israel, referred to in the New Testament as the Jews (Romans 1:16).
Some immediately protest this claim by arguing that the Abrahamic Covenant has been abrogated either by the Cross or by the disobedience of the Jews. But the Bible clearly teaches that the Abrahamic Covenant is an everlasting one that is still in effect (Genesis 17:7; 1 Chronicles 16:17-18; Psalm 105:8-11; and Romans 9:4).
As to the effect of the Jew's rejection of Jesus, Paul specifically addresses this question in Romans 3. He asks a rhetorical question: "What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?" For almost two thousand years the Church has answered this question with a resounding, Yes! But Paul answers it differently. He says, "May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar..." (Romans 3:1-4).
Further, Paul states in Romans 11 that the disobedience of the Jews has not nullified the promises of God to them, "for the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable" (Romans 11:29). God's promises are going to be fulfilled to a believing remnant (Romans 9: 27). In fact, in Romans 9:4, Paul specifically states that God's promises to the Jews are still valid.

Two Land Covenants
What most people do not know is that there are two Old Testament covenants pertaining to the land of Israel. The Abrahamic Covenant gives the title of the land to the Jews in perpetuity. A later covenant, the Mosaic Land Covenant — or Canaan Covenant — of Deuteronomy 28-30 defines the conditions for possession and enjoyment of the land.
This latter covenant is often referred to as the "Palestinian Covenant," but that is a misnomer, for the land was never called Palestine until after the second Jewish revolt in 132-135 A.D. At that time the Romans dubbed it "Palestine" to erase the memory of its Jewish heritage and to insult the Jews, for Palestine is the Latin word for Philistine, the ancient enemy of Israel.

Let me illustrate the role and relationship of these two covenants with a modern day example. Let's say you buy a car for a child of yours and put the title in the child's name. But you explain to the child that there are conditions for using the car — such as no speeding. And you warn your child that a speeding ticket will result in the loss of the privilege of driving the car for a period of two weeks. If the child gets a ticket and you lock the car up in the garage for two weeks, the car still belongs to the child because the child's name is on the title. But the child has temporarily lost possession of the vehicle.
In like manner, the Abrahamic Covenant (about 2,000 B.C.) gave the title of the land to the Jews for eternity. The Canaan Covenant (about 1,250 B.C.) defined the terms for possession and use of the land. Title and possession are not the same thing. The Jews have lost possession of the land from time to time, but they have never lost their God-given title.

The Canaan Covenant
The Land Covenant promised that Israel would become the prime nation of the world if the Jews were obedient to God (Deuteronomy 28:1,13). But the covenant warned that many curses would befall the people if they were disobedient (Deuteronomy 28:15-37), including exile from the land (Deuteronomy 28:38-57). The covenant warned further that if temporary exile did not restore the Jews to obedience, they would suffer worldwide dispersion and persecution (Deuteronomy 28:58-68). But nowhere are they told that their disobedience would lead to a loss of their title to the land.
In fact, the Land Covenant ends in chapter 30 with a prophecy and a promise that a day will come — after the Jews have experienced the curses of the covenant — when the Lord will restore them to their land once again: "The Lord will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you. If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. And the Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it" (Deuteronomy 30:3-5).
For almost 1,900 years the Jews wandered among the nations and suffered severe persecution, just as prophesied in Deuteronomy 28. During that time, their land became desolate as prophesied in Deuteronomy 29. But in this century, God has regathered them from the four corners of the earth, re-established them in their land, and transformed their land from wilderness to milk and honey — as prophesied in Deuteronomy 30.
The only prophecy left to be fulfilled in the Land Covenant is the spiritual salvation of the gathered remnant (Deuteronomy 30:6-8). That will occur soon when they repent and accept Yeshua as their Messiah.
The Abrahamic and Land Covenants make it clear that the Jewish people have both the right to the land of Israel and the right to be back in it today.

The Arab Covenant
Where does this leave the Arabs? As descendants of Abraham's son, Ishmael, they too have a promise, but it is not a land promise. The covenant God made with Ishmael had to do with the number of his descendants. Ishmael was promised that his descendants would be "multiplied exceedingly" (Genesis 17:20).
God has faithfully kept His promise to the descendants of Ishmael. Today there are 21 Arab states with a combined population of 175 million Arabs. There is only one Jewish state with a population of nearly 6 million. The Arab states contain 5.3 million square miles of oil rich land. Israel has only 8 thousand square miles of land with no major oil reserves that have been discovered, though plenty of natural gas off of the coast. That's a population ratio of 43 to 1 and a land ratio of 662 to 1!

The Palestinian Claim
But what about the Palestinian people? Don't they deserve a state? Keep in mind first of all that a Palestinian state never existed prior to this century. From 70 A.D. to 1948 the geographical area known as Palestine was never an independent state nor did the Arabs residing there have any consciousness of themselves as a separate nation of people. They regarded themselves as Syrians. Also, keep in mind that Jerusalem has never served as the capital of any Arab nation, whereas it has been considered the capital of the Jewish people since 1,000 B.C.
Also noteworthy is the fact that when the West Bank and Gaza were under Jordanian autonomy from 1948 to 1967, there was not any effort to create a separate Palestinian state. The PLO was formed during that time, not for the purpose of creating a Palestinian State, but rather for the purpose of exterminating the Jewish state.
Equally important is the fact that a Palestinian state already exists — and it is four times larger than Israel! The Palestinian state is Jordan. In the Balfour Declaration of 1917, the British originally promised all the Palestinian Mandate to the Jews as a national homeland. But in 1922 they broke that promise by using 77% of the Mandate to create the Arab state of Jordan. Today that state's population is 75% Palestinian.

The True Arab Goal
Then why do the Arabs demand the creation of a Palestinian state within the boundaries of current day Israel? The answer is simple. The real Arab goal is not the establishment of another Palestinian state. The true goal is the destruction of Israel.
In fact, now deceased former PLO leader Yasser Arafat originally spelled out his strategy to the Arab world, and the strategy was adopted officially by the PLO in 1974. It is called "the phased plan." Realizing that he could not defeat Israel with war or terrorism, he decided that the road to victory was deceptive diplomacy. He would talk about peace in return for land, while rallying the anti-Israeli Western powers to put pressure on the Israeli government to capitulate. Once he got a toe-hold in the land, he would then use that as a

base for renewed attacks on Israel. In short, he would take Israel in phases. It is a clever strategy that he spelled out in detail in many public speeches, just as Hitler outlined his strategy in detail in Mein Kampf.
The World's Demand
The world insists that the Jews must trade land for peace. But trading land for peace only whets the appetite of the aggressor. Israel has returned the Sinai to Egypt twice, and the Egyptians are still bristling with hostility toward Israel, even moreso since President Hosni Mubarak was taken out of power.
Furthermore, Israel doesn't have any territory to give away. It is one of the world's smallest nations. Turning the West Bank over to hostile Arabs would put the enemy of Israel within 11 miles of Tel Aviv. No government in its right mind would agree to such insanity.
Why then did the government of former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres (who is now Israel's President) agree to the initiation of the current peace process? The answer is deception. They were deceived by the PLO and the Western nations. Worst of all, they had deceived themselves.
Their self-deception was rooted in their Humanistic view of the world. Keep in mind that there was not a single believer in God among the top circle of Israeli leaders in the Rabin government. They were all either atheists or agnostics. Politically, they were either socialists or liberal humanists. This means that they believed in the basic goodness of Man. Translated into foreign policy, it means that they believed that if they treated their enemies with fairness and trust, their enemies would reciprocate. They simply could not bring themselves to believe that their enemies are determined to destroy them.
Imbecilic Policy
Ignoring all the harsh lessons of history, Rabin and Peres embarked on a policy of appeasement, hoping that they could satisfy the appetite of their enemies by giving them land for peace. History proves conclusively that appeasement always has the opposite effect — namely, it encourages the aggressor to want more.
Chamberlain found that out when he tried to satisfy Hitler by trading him the Sudetenland for peace. Chamberlain turned out to be a fool. But Rabin and Peres made Chamberlain look good. After all, he at least was not foolish enough to trade some of the territory of Britain for peace! No, he gave away another nation's land. Rabin and Peres sought to trade their own land, land that would put their sworn enemy in the very heart of their nation.

Implacable Enemies
What makes all this particularly ludicrous is the fact that Yasser Arafat and his successor Mahmoud Abbas did not even attempt to hide their true intentions. Arafat promised that in return for receiving autonomy over Gaza and Jericho he would have the PLO rescind the clauses in its covenant that call for the destruction of Israel. They got control over both

Gaza and Jericho, but to this day the Fatah/Hamas government still has not even attempted to get the PLO to amend its charter.
Even worse, Arafat continued to speak openly about his intention to take Jerusalem. The ink was hardly dry on the "peace" accord when he gave a speech in South Africa advocating a jihad to "liberate" Jerusalem. A jihad is a holy war! Again, Rabin and Peres made excuses for him, as did the U.S. State Department. They explained that Arafat was just saying what he had to say to placate his Arab enemies, and that he really didn't mean what he was saying. That's exactly what the Western European leaders kept saying about Hitler — "He doesn't really mean it." Well, he meant it, and so did Arafat and now Abbas today.
Insolent Allies
The Israeli leaders have also been deceived by the West. The United States and its Western allies have talked the government of Israel into doing something that every Israeli leader in the past said the nation would never do, and that is to place the survival of the country in the hands of foreigners. The Western nations keep whispering soothing assurances that they will "guarantee" the peace. But when the "peace" evaporates into all out war, Israel will discover that the Western world will back off and leave the nation to fend for itself. The bottom line is that Israel is no Kuwait. Israel has no oil, and Israel is full of Jews whom the world hates.
The current "peace" process is a prescription for war, and it will be the bloodiest war in the history of the Middle East. I believe it will be a war that will lead up to the climax of the current age, ushering in the Tribulation.

The Jews' Resolve
The Jews must stand firm in their determination to maintain the territorial integrity of the land God gave them. In doing so, they will bring the wrath of the nations upon themselves. The prophet Zechariah says that all the nations of the world will come together against Israel in the end times (Zechariah 12:3).
But God will sustain the Jewish people, for they are the "apple of His eye" (Zechariah 2:8). The Word of God says Philistia is finished — "melted away" (Isaiah 14:29-32). And the Word says that once the Jews are reestablished in the their land, "they will never be rooted up again" (Amos 9:14-15).
Let all the world come together against God's Chosen. The Lord sits in the heavens and laughs (Psalm 2:4), for He has the wisdom and power to orchestrate all the evil of Man to the fulfillment of His purposes (Psalm 76:10).

Imminent Scenario
What is likely to happen next? Here is the most likely scenario that I can foresee at the moment. Hamas, the fundamentalist Arab terrorist organization funded by Iran, will take complete control over the Palestinian autonomous areas. Hamas will then unleash a renewed reign of terror on Israel, continuing their lobbing of rockets from Gaza and Jericho to back up their demand for control of Jerusalem.
Abbas will orchestrate world pressure on Israel through the United Nations and the Vatican. In September of this year he will likely proclaim a Palestinian state and then demand that Jerusalem be "liberated" or internationalized.
Since even the most liberal Israelis take the position that Jerusalem is non-negotiable, the pressure will mount toward an inevitable conflict. If Hamas does not unleash the rockets first, then Abbas will ultimately return to the method he knows best — terror.
This will prompt an Israeli counter attack, which, in turn, will motivate the Arab states to come to the defense of the Palestinians. This could very well lead to Syria launching an all out missile attack on Tel Aviv in order to reclaim the Golan Heights and turn attention away from their civilian upheavals.
If that ominous event should occur, the Israelis will be forced to use their ultimate weapon to survive. They will strike Damascus with nuclear weapons. This will fulfill the prophecies that state that Damascus will cease to exist in the end times (Isaiah 17:1-3 and Jeremiah 49:23-27).
In panic, the Arab states will then turn to their natural ally for help — the Russians. And the likelihood is that the Russian government will be only too happy to send an army into the Middle East to destroy Israel (and grab the Arab oil fields in the process).
That is when the Lord will step in personally to destroy the Russian hordes on the mountains of Israel in a supernatural way so that even the Israelis will realize that their deliverance came from the Lord and not from their own military might (Ezekiel 38 and 39).
As the whole world panics on the brink of World War III, a dynamic, charismatic political leader from Europe will step into the vacuum and propose an ingenious solution that will result in peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors — a peace that will enable the Jews to rebuild their Temple.
We live in exciting times when we can watch prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. The events are ominous and overwhelming, but we can stand firm with great hope because we know that God is on His throne and that He is in control.
The events we are currently witnessing point to the imminent return of Yeshua, and when He returns, the world will be flooded with peace and righteousness, and Israel will enjoy the blessings of territorial integrity and peace forevermore (Zechariah 8:1-8).

Are there promises to the Arabs related to the land of Israel?

As descendants of Abraham's son, Ishmael, they too have a promise, but it is not a land promise. The covenant God made with Ishmael had to do with the number of his descendants. Ishmael was promised that his descendants would be "multiplied exceedingly" (Genesis 17:20).
